Recorded vote: as an ACT Greens member of the 10th Assembly, Braddock was among the Labor and Greens members who passed the 2024 reforms to the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act (12 to 5), giving greater choice of gender descriptors on birth certificates, removing the clinical-treatment requirement and lowering the application age, which the Liberals opposed.
Religious freedom verified
In the Discrimination Amendment Bill 2022 debate (23 March 2023), Braddock (Greens) spoke in support of the bill, applauding the refinement of the Act's exceptions (including those affecting religious bodies) so that discrimination must be reasonable, proportionate and justifiable, and stated the Greens would oppose the Opposition's amendment that he said would effectively restore a blanket exemption for clubs to discriminate. Braddock introduced a private member's Road Transport (Alcohol and Drugs) Amendment Bill 2026 to remove what he calls 'discriminatory treatment' of medicinal cannabis users under drug-driving laws, arguing prescribed cannabis users who are not impaired should not be treated differently from prescribed opioid users: 'if you are not impaired, have a valid prescription, and are taking your medication as directed, you should not be treated as a criminal.'
