In response to the Canberrans for a Good Death 2024 election candidate survey, Emerson (Independents for Canberra, Kurrajong) answered 'Yes' to the question 'Do you support VAD', and supported widening eligibility and a binding advance directive in the next Assembly term. (Stated position; he was elected in November 2024 and did not vote on the 2024 Act.)
