Immigration verified
In November 2016, before entering Parliament, Ali France publicly urged then-PM Malcolm Turnbull to reconsider a proposed lifetime ban on asylum seekers who arrived by boat, writing an open letter and citing her surgeon, an Iraqi refugee who came to Australia by boat; she said genuine refugees 'should be given a chance.' Wikipedia characterises her as a critic of offshore detention. Her July 2025 first speech did not address immigration.
