Immigration verified

As Minister for Immigration and Citizenship (2010-2013), Bowen secured an offshore processing arrangement with Malaysia (the "Malaysia Solution") in 2011, under which Australia would transfer asylum seekers who arrived by boat to Malaysia in exchange for resettling refugees from there; the arrangement was struck down by the High Court in September 2011.

Chris Bowen has backed bringing solar panel manufacturing to Australia under the Future Made in Australia agenda, stating "We invented the modern solar panel...
