Joined the House Standing Committee on Primary Industries on 24 June 2026 and has questioned witnesses at its critical minerals inquiry, pressing for speed rather than protection. On 2 July 2026: 'one of the critical issues here, beyond critical minerals, is critical time - urgency to accelerate the process', noting project timelines are 'nearly intergenerational'. On 25 June 2026 he asked regulators 'what are the heavy links in the chain that need addressing to be able to accelerate it', and twice pressed on international benchmarking: 'Somewhere else in the modern developed world, someone's doing this better than us.'
