Littleproud called on the Treasurer to revise parts of the Australia-US free trade agreement that allow US companies to buy Australian farming ventures worth up to $1.46 billion without Foreign Investment Review Board approval, a threshold not applied to other foreign investors. He said the current rules let cashed-up foreign buyers outcompete Australian farming families for farmland.
