Jacinta Suzette Yangapi Nampijinpa Price was born on 12 May 1981 in Darwin and spent most of her childhood growing up in Alice Springs. Prior to her political career she worked for nearly 20 years as a cross-cultural consultant and was elected to the Alice Springs Town Council in a by-election in October 2015. Immigration verified

On 3 September 2025 Price claimed the Labor government was giving preference to immigrants from particular countries, specifically India, citing concern over 'large numbers' arriving. She later retracted the claim that immigration law permits ethnic preference but said 'I don't believe I have anything to apologise about'; on 10 September 2025 Liberal leader Sussan Ley removed her from the shadow ministry after she refused to apologise.

Foreign policy & aid verified

Price has publicly criticised the Albanese Government's foreign policy on the Middle East. In an October 2024 opinion piece she defended Israel as "our ally" and accused critics of being silent on Hamas atrocities while accusing Israel of "genocide" for responding. She characterised the government's September 2025 decision to recognise a Palestinian state as "ill-timed, impulsive, irrational, immoral and ideologically-driven".
