Economic nationalism verified

On his official website, Ciccone advocates for Australia building domestic industrial and manufacturing capacity, stating: "Australia must be a country that makes things, to have our own industrial and manufacturing capabilities," and arguing that COVID showed "the need for Australia to be a place which makes things... our own sovereign capabilities." He supports the National Reconstruction Fund to diversify Australia's industrial base and develop national sovereign capability.

Foreign policy & aid verified

Ciccone is a strong supporter of AUKUS and the Australia-US alliance, stating in an August 2025 piece that "AUKUS represents just one component of our broader defence partnership" resting on shared values and the rules-based order, and projecting it will create around 20,000 jobs. In a March 2026 Senate speech on Iran-Israel escalation he argued "Peace is not maintained by slogans or wishful thinking; it is maintained by strength, alliances and, importantly, deterrence," noted Australia's military support to the UAE, and accused the Greens of "selective outrage" and an "anti-West and anti-Australia" stance on AUKUS.
