Immigration verified
Henderson opposed the medevac legislation allowing medical transfers of asylum seekers to Australia, saying "there is no need for this bill ... this is all about politics" and that medical treatment was already available on Manus Island and Nauru. She has generally supported the party line on boat turnbacks and offshore processing.
Economic nationalism verified
In her maiden Senate speech (16 October 2019), Henderson stated that Australia's critical infrastructure assets "such as airports, power stations, data networks, communications infrastructure and ports - including the Port of Darwin - should simply not be falling into foreign hands," and called for foreign investment laws to be re-examined to limit foreign acquisition of prime agricultural land.
