Cecily Ann Rosol was born on 2 January 1975 in Dandenong, Victoria. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nursing) from the University of Newcastle and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling from the University of New England, and worked as a registered nurse in NSW, the UK and Launceston hospitals before studying counselling and working as a school chaplain in a low socio-economic community for close to a decade, later running a counselling business called "Thrive Launceston". Stated position: Rosol opposes 'adult crime, adult time' laws and supports raising the age of criminal responsibility and evidence-based youth justice. In May 2025 she cited UN Special Rapporteurs that such laws are 'Incompatible with basic child rights' and asked the Premier to 'ditch the adult crime, adult time plan.'
