Sourced positions
Each position is the member's own stated view or vote, supported by the listed sources. The badge says what kind of source backs it — official record (Hansard, a parliament, a government or an electoral commission), own statement (their own site or their party's), news report (journalism or a third-party organisation) or encyclopedia. That is a statement about the evidence, not about how much we believe it. This page records public statements and conduct only — see methodology.
First Nations & treaty news report
Speaking at the Cry for Truth and Justice rally on 26 January 2025 she said 'sovereignty was never ceded: this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.' She argued the walk-back on First Nations rights 'is global', criticised councils 'walking back previous decisions not to recognise January 26 as Australia Day', and said rights 'are never handed over by bosses or politicians because we asked nicely.'
Integrity & anti-corruption news report
Her own words on council spending priorities, September 2024: 'Just last year, the City was suggesting it close libraries and pools due to budget shortfalls. Meanwhile, the federal government can pour billions into defence manufacturing.' She voted against the council's Economic Development Plan because it welcomed defence manufacturing becoming central to the city's budget.
Housing & planning news report
As a City of Greater Geelong councillor she 'won unanimous support for council land to be retained for social housing, rather than sold to private developers'.
Energy news report
Opposes the proposed offshore gas import terminal in Corio Bay, supporting the community-led campaign against it.
Environment & water news report
Opposes heavy industry siting in Geelong's northern suburbs, which she says are 'treated like a dumping ground for heavy industry', citing a proposed waste-to-energy incinerator and an offshore gas import terminal: 'These would not be tolerated in other parts of the city.' She supports the community campaigns against both.
