Australian Labor Party party platform
The 2023 ALP National Platform states that the National Anti-Corruption Commission Labor promised "is already up and running, helping to restore to government the honesty, integrity and accountability that are the lifeblood of the trust upon which our democracy is built."
Australian Greens party platform
The platform calls for Truth in Political Advertising laws with enforceable penalties for false or misleading political ads, and states that funding for anti-corruption and integrity agencies should be set at arm's length from government by an independent tribunal rather than controlled by politicians.
Victorian Socialists party platform
The party states that socialist democracy should guarantee the right to recall elected representatives, give elected representatives no special privileges, and subject all political and civic institutions to democratic control.
Animal Justice Party party platform
The party supports efforts to improve equity, transparency, integrity and accountability in local, state and federal elections and decision-making, including strengthening state anti-corruption watchdogs and introducing a federal Independent Commission Against Corruption.
Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party party platform
The NSW platform states support for measures and regulations to ensure integrity and accountability of local government representatives, including around meetings and developer material, and calls for an open, transparent and accountable local government sector. It also states opposition to forced council amalgamations.
Libertarian Party party platform
The party supports accountability bodies such as ombudsmen, auditors-general and the Productivity Commission, proposing a two-thirds majority of both houses of federal parliament to make or resource appointments to such bodies; it also supports protecting whistleblowers who make public interest disclosures from penalty, and a freedom-of-information regime where the onus is on government to justify withholding information.
Centre Alliance party platform
Calls for a national anti-corruption commission, timely and transparent reporting of politicians' entitlements and claims, and whistleblower protection legislation including compensation for any resulting loss of income.
Jacqui Lambie Network party platform
Supports a federal anti-corruption watchdog, criticises inadequately regulated lobbyists and the "revolving door" between ministerial office and lobbying, and highlights concerns about undisclosed "dark money" in political donations.
Australia's Voice party platform
Calls to cut politicians' perks, freeze MP pay rises, and reduce taxpayer-funded travel allowances, vehicles and exit payouts for parliamentarians.
Australian Christians party platform
The party states it believes in honesty and integrity, that it does not want hypocrisy, political correctness, coercion, spin or other forms of deception from leaders, and that it supports transparent, accountable governance with freedom of speech serving as a check against corruption and abuse by government officials.
United Australia Party party platform
Party parliamentarians moved in the Senate to establish a Select Committee on a National Integrity Commission, calling for an independent federal anti-corruption body with power to scrutinise everyone from workers and employers up to politicians and party donors.
