Caitlin Tough (née Delbridge) was born in January 1993 on the Central Coast of New South Wales and grew up in and around Toukley, attending public primary schools in Toukley and Wyong before completing high school at MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale. She moved to Canberra in 2011 to study at the Australian National University, graduating with a Bachelor of Policy Studies in 2013, and later earned a Master of Politics and Public Policy from Macquarie University in 2019. She worked in the Australian Public Service, including while completing her master's degree, prior to her election in 2024. [source]

Voluntary assisted dying verified

As ACT Labor candidate for Brindabella in the 2024 election, Tough provided a candidate statement to Canberrans for a Good Death adopting the ACT Labor statement, which expressed support for the ACT's voluntary assisted dying legislation and noted all ACT Labor MLAs voted in favour of it. (Stated position; she was elected in November 2024 and did not vote on the 2024 Act.)
